When is the last time you sat back, dropped the needle on a vinyl record, listened to the whole thing front to back, read the lyrics, and the liner notes? If it’s been a while, you’ll want to do this on the latest album “Feel it All” by The PH Project. The album, three years in the making is a follow-up to their debut, “Slow Burn” both on Soul Whiskey Records. 

Inspired by Jack Kerouac’s “On the Road” and the Beat Generation, “Feel it all” is a concept album delivering a road experience from start to finish. The song writing team of Paul Kaminski and Hugh van der Linden, craft a conceptual experience of theme’s, characters, and images of the joys and pitfalls of bohemian freedom while attacking the road from all angles.

Hailing from Long Beach, California, Paul and Hugh began their songwriting journey in 2020. Friends since high school, the duo found an instant chemistry and love for classic rock- based music. This new project, a collaborative effort with musicians from Long Beach, took life at The Compound Studio with Antoine Arvizu.  

“This is a bucket-list fully realized,” says the pair, “we wanted to do a concept album like the ones we listened to in the 70’s and we wanted to celebrate ideas engrained in the writing of Jack Kerouac and the Beats. We also wanted an album where each song could stand on its own, and I think we accomplished that.”

From the first start of the car engine to the trailing sound of a locomotive, “Feel it All” captures an odyssey of life on the road.
